BACP Affiliations

BACP Registration

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

The BACP Register is monitored by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, an independent body accountable to Government. The main purpose of the Register is to protect the public. It provides reassurance to clients and the general public that a registered therapist adheres to high standards of proficiency and good practice. These standards cover professional training, clinical supervision, CPD (Continuing Professional Development) and commitment to a robust Ethical Framework.

BACP Senior Accreditation

I am a senior accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

BACP awards accredited status to counsellors who “have additional areas of expertise, skills and knowledge on top of their original training, recognising them as the ‘gold standard’ within the profession.” Senior accreditation recognises "further accomplishment and development within specialist areas, and is awarded to the most experienced practitioners, to reflect areas of expertise."

If you would like to check my membership status, you can search for me by name (Michelle Nicholson) or by certificate number (105866) on the BACP Register.
